Supporting mid-career women in technical roles through 1:1 mentorship

Through WEST, in partnership with Everwise, women will receive a guided learning experience incorporating a mentor, community advice, peer groups, curated content, and activities that align with the individual learner journey. Mentees will be matched in a curated and supported 6 month mentoring experience. Some of the benefits a participant will receive are:

  • Advice and guidance from a mentor who’s “been there, done that”
  • A safe space to work on self-identified focus areas and get career advice
  • Increased professional confidence
  • An unbiased, external sounding board
  • Exposure to new ideas and new perspective

As a WEST mentee, you will get: 

  • 6-month 1:1 mentorship
  • 1 yr access to the Everwise platform and resources
  • Access to WEST events and webinars
  • Access to WEST community of mentees and mentors 

Mentorship topics are typically related to horizontal skills such as: 

  • Career path
  • Leadership
  • Influence
  • Communication
  • Personal Brand
  • Negotiation 

Our mentors come from WEST sponsors as well as the broader network of the WEST team and advisory board. They are women and men in technical roles who are mid- to late-career. We have had fabulous feedback so far on the quality and of our mentors and match satisfaction. In fact, most of our mentees have experienced some kind of significant career event as a result of participating in WEST! We hope to help you do the same. 

Many companies have a learning and development budget available for employees. We encourage you to ask your manager to support your career development through WEST and reimburse you for the program cost. We have created an email template that may be helpful in discussing WEST with your manager.
